Pro X Frequently Asked Questions
The Pro X offers 2x more power (800W vs 400W) and more advanced AI (10 vs 6 postures). For just £200 more, you get Hyper mode, superior range and premium-grade performance.
Excellent question! The Pro X has exactly the same power and AI as the Carbon X (800W, 10 postures). The only difference: 200g more weight and no GORE-TEX. For £300 savings, it’s the most rational choice.
Absolutely! Its 800W power and 10-posture AI make it the ideal tool for intensive rehabilitation. Many physiotherapists recommend it to their post-stroke patients or those with neurological conditions.
ECO Mode: 17.5km actual range
Hyper Mode: 6-8km depending on intensity

Unfortunately the motor was too heavy on my arthritic hips and bottom of my spine, for me to wear for very long.
I look forward to a lighter frame with the motor placed on the side of the knees.
However I have never been so pleased with anything in all my life. I'm mobility impaired; I use crutches and a wheelchair. I have FND, CFS, CPS and FMS. This device means that I can leave the house easily. I can walk like everyday folks. Well OK maybe not as far... but it really is a gamechanger.
"Eco" mode set at 40% gives me enough so it basically lifts my legs and walks for me. The battery last ages, it comes with a spare battery and really good carry case for the entire unit so it can be stowed in the car safely. The entire thing reeks of quality. I don't even need crutches or a stick when using it; it's quite rigid and stops you lurching from side to side (but not in a way that it feels restrictive). It even detects going up stairs and lifts your legs higher after the first step, and detects you going *down* stairs and applies braking. Yeah, that good.
The accompanying app is fantastic. It's easy to use and lets you tweak every setting from automatic activity detection to per-leg torque differential.
There *is* a power mode ("HYPER MODE"). OK this is a bit crazy for me. If I ever decide to fight crime then I might stick this mode on. You feel like RoboCop. But genuinely - you don't need it. I don't even know what it's for... cycling maybe? Parkour?
The following notes might address concerns raised by others:
- As others have stated, you need the battery in the device to charge it via USB-C. This is weird. But they do sell an external charger which allows you to charge the battery directly. However given how long the battery lasts, you're not going to be changing it that frequently.
- Some reviewers have said they couldn't use it because it didn't charge up. Note that you need a proper USB-C *PD* charger - not a bog standard phone charger. It will use up to 100W to charge according to the manual. I used a 45W charger and it worked great - charges form empty in a couple of hours. But maybe don't use a 5/10W USB-C charger you got free with your phone.
- A lot of people have said it's difficult to remove/reinsert the battery. It *is*. This seems to result from how tight the battery "runs up" the two plastic guide rails when inserting. Some lithium grease on the rails makes it a lot easier.
- Some reviews said you need the app to use it. You don't at all - it does everything on the single button on the device. You just have to read the manual to find out how to use it, as it uses a single button (tap, long press to turn on, double tap to increase power, triple tap to decrease, long hold for HYPER MODE).
- Some reviews said it doesn't react quick enough when you start moving. There is a delay of 1-2 seconds. Handy tip tho: if you're just walking on the level: a) turn "walk" mode on in the app [i.e. no intelligent activity detection], and b) turn movement detection sensitivity up. It kicks in a lot faster if you're stopping and starting walking a lot (like visiting a gallery or museum).
- I read a review saying it was difficult to get on. I can't think why this would be - it's like putting a bumbag on with a single easy release clip on the front of your waist. Then the easy release clips go around your legs. That's it... I have mobility issues and it takes me 30 seconds.
The qr code is the old app for me but Google play has it.
Once set up takes place on your phone and is easily completed (takes some time to self adjust)
The AI really isnt. I thought it was adaptive reaction but needs to be connected to you phone by Bluetooth and GPS...
Tip, try to set up the legs before fitting the pack to ensure the assistance works best
WILL NOT SUPPORT YOU IN ANY WAY ITS DESIGNED TO ASSIST YOU AND CAN HELP YOU RECOVER IF MOBILITY IS IMPAIRED
Nel video, prima volta che lo usavo, ho messo storto l’esoscheletro eppure ha fatto il suo dovere.
Comunque l’app registra il posizionamento.Phenomenal!!! Love it!!! I can walk the stairs step by step without problems. Even its weight is bearable and it has two batteries supplied. With the app I know how much battery there is, my steps... a great thing.
In the video, the first time I used it, I twisted my exoskeleton and yet it did its job.
However, the app records the positioning.
this gizmo has given me back more than just my mobility, it has restored my self-esteem.
The only downside, is thatthere does not appear to be a "try before you buy" option, as it may not be for everyone.
I spoke to my Neurophysiotherapist before buying, who advocated this to support me when it's needed (not every day, I might add) so woud advise consulting a medical professional if you're unsure if an exoskeleton such as Hypershell is right for you.
